The shop & the opportunity
Good products still need a clear path to purchase.
The Crafty Cottage of TN sells useful, giftable home pieces, from kitchen organizers and wood trays to personalized blankets. The opportunity was to make each productโs purpose, quality, and options easier to understand, while helping the right shoppers find it.
A shopper looking for kitchen storage has different questions from someone choosing a personalized gift. Our work connected the search that brought a buyer in with the details they needed to choose: what the product does, how it fits their space or occasion, and which option is right for them.
The work
Specific changes, grounded in how people shop.
Search & positioning
Follow the language buyers actually use.
We reviewed competitors, checked keyword ideas against live Etsy results, and used the shopโs own search and advertising data to guide listing updates. For one cabinet listing, that meant shifting the positioning toward โkitchen counter organizer,โ a search term already associated with conversions.
Why it mattered: the product could be presented around a clear use case, with the search terms and listing story working together.
Visual clarity
Show the details that help someone decide.
We reworked selected hero images and listing carousels. For a long tray/riser, the focus was scale, practical uses, and stain choices, giving shoppers a better way to picture the piece in their own home.
Why it mattered: the gallery had a job to do beyond looking attractive. It needed to make the product easier to understand.
Personalized gifts
Make the occasion and the options feel clear.
Cotton-throw listings received updated descriptions, variations, and personalization details. Visual and SEO work also sharpened personalized Grammy, Mimi, and storybook-gifting angles. We reordered image carousels and later refreshed imagery on selected underperforming blanket and blanket-plus-book listings.
Why it mattered: the search language, gift idea, product images, and ordering choices could tell a more consistent story.
The OptiShop Framework in practice
Research became changes buyers could see.
We bring shop performance, customer questions, and live market research into the same decision. Then we turn that understanding into focused improvements across positioning, search, visuals, and ordering choices.
For this shop, a kitchen organizer needed a different story from a personalized blanket. Work was prioritized around the product, the buyerโs questions, and the available performance evidence, with ongoing review informing the next round of improvements.
